Huther & Associates, Inc. is a privately held corporation headquartered in Denton, Texas. It was founded by Bruce Huther in 1992 who functions as Senior Toxicologist (B.S. Zoology, University of New Hampshire; M.S. Environmental Sciences, Aquatic Toxicology, University of Texas at Dallas). Our staff is comprised of aquatic toxicologists, biologists, chemists and consultants who work in conjunction with wastewater and process engineers.

With the Congressional passage of the Water Quality Act of 1987, emphasis has been placed on the use of aquatic organisms to measure the effects of effluents on the receiving body of water (Whole Effluent Toxicity Testing). The aquatic toxicology division is committed to using a biological-based approach to resolve toxicity related issues.

Toxicology data are used for many purposes including: compliance with regulatory WET testing requirements, determination of the presence, concentration, and movement of toxic materials in the aquatic environment, potential effects upon, or protection of aquatic life, and ultimately for the protection of human health.

The structure of our company includes a consultation division with the goal to assist our clients in attaining and maintaining environmental compliance. We endeavor to solve problems quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively. Our primary focus is whole effluent toxicity testing (WET testing) as required by the Clean Water Act, state and local regulations. Our resources allow us to efficiently deal with storm water related issues including permitting, sampling, testing, and Pollution Prevention Plans.
